This course covers the core skills that every mentor needs including building self esteem, active listening, critical thinking and goal setting.

Executive Director

Riyad Shamma

Riyad Shamma is the founder and Executive Director of the Institute of Youth Development and Excellence. His work spans over 30 years in the vanguard of youth development in the US. Although he has a MS in Industrial Engineering, he is currently working on completing his PhD in nonprofit Management and Leadership Education. He has worked as a youth program developer, organizer and counselor for MYNA and MSA, and has taught hundreds of workshops, seminars, and courses for organizations and universities.
